Changing the size of text on your screen

If you find that the text on your screen when viewing this web site is too large or small, move your cursor over View on your browser's tool bar and click with the left mouse button. Select Text Size or Change Font Size (or a similarly worded option depending on which browser you are using) then make the text smaller or larger.

Keyboard shortcuts (alt keys)

Keyboard shortcuts (Internet Explorer only) are provided to get you to the main sections of the site easily from any page (they are displayed as links at the top and bottom of each page). To activate a shortcut, hold the Alt down and press the keyboard shortcut key defined, then press the Return key. Shortcuts are shown in the table below.

Images and pictures

All of our images are of the format .jpg, .gif or .png and have meaningful Alt tags attached to them.

Other web page objects and animations

All objects and animations have an alternate still image with an appropriate alt tag. If your browser cannot play the object or animation the alternate image is shown.

Using PDF files

To view PDF files online you will need to install the latest Adobe Reader, the latest version can be downloaded from the Adobe website.

To view PDF files online:


  • With your left mouse button click on the PDF file link.
  • Adobe Reader will open the file within a separate window on your screen.

To print PDF files:


  • Position the cursor arrow over the printer icon within the Adobe window and press the left mouse button.
  • Please note this option does not allow you to save a copy of the PDF file on your computer's hard drive.
  • Some older printers may not be able to print the file correctly.

To download PDF files for offline viewing or storage:


  • With your right mouse button click on the PDF file link.
  • A menu will appear.
  • To save the PDF file to your computer's hard drive move your cursor over the Save Target As option and press the left mouse button.
  • A Save As dialogue box will appear where you should specify a file name and location.
  • Make sure the Save as type box displays Adobe Acrobat Document otherwise you will be unable to view the file.
  • Click on Save with your left mouse button.

To read PDF files with a screen reader:

Adobe provide a free online tool which converts PDF files to a format which can be used with screen-reading programs. This is available on the Adobe Accessibility site.
